Daniel Clarke is a Walkley Award winning filmmaker (the Walkley is Australia's highest accolade in journalism). His independent documentaries are streaming on ABC iView, Foxtel, Binge, Amazon Prime, DocPlay and SBS on Demand, and have been screened in festivals across the world. He has worked as a videography contributor for the BBC, CNN and the ABC. 
A freelance journalist with 25 years experience, his writing has been published in The Guardian, The Australian, The Advertiser and the National Indigenous Times. He was named South Australian Journalist of the Year in 2023 for his feature documentary Lost in the Woods.
Most recently in 2025 he has produced episodes for the ABC's Australian Story and Compass programs. His films have been nominated for Best Documentary four times in the South Australian Screen Awards.


Ad Hoc Docs is based in Adelaide and Kangaroo Island and specialises in independent film, photography, professional video editing and small business advertising.
