Angels in flight

11/06/26

WATCH: The Island Independent was invited on a very special journey with three of the nicest people you will meet showcasing a service of immense importance. Kangaroo Island resident Naomi Wallace-Mitchell is battling Stage 4 cancer and is receiving regular chemotherapy at the Flinders Medical Centre. The eight hour return trip from Bay of Shoals by bus and ferry is too painful to endure so she is flown across the water by Angel Flight pilot Rod Lovell in his splendid 1967 Beechcraft.

Watch this moving short video about Naomi's fight and the vital volunteer service that is changing rural lives. Many thanks to Naomi for her trust, Rod and Bruce for their cooperation and excellent service, and the Angel Flight team for facilitating the trip.

Angel Flight is helping rural Australians access the health care they need.
